With great delight I present the annual report which enumerates the labor of love and activities and achievements since the inception of the school. With your support and the blessings of the almighty our enrollment has experienced an upward trend and for this I extend our gratitude to all the parents, who entrusted the institution to share with them the responsibility of nurturing their children. We, as a new institution, feel humbled and overwhelmed with the faith you’ve placed in us. It has been a great ride and the institution feels honored and fortunate to have you as prized parents of our institution.

Inaugurations:

The last two years have seen tremendous development infrastructurally in alignment to school needs

1. The IDPS Shooting Range aptly named ‘Shooting Star’ was inaugurated in Aug of 2018 to build our students sporting caliber and also encourage a coherent training regimen in developing attributes like concentration, discipline and stamina. The rigorous training paid off when our students represented and participated in different competitions across India; namely The GV Mavalankar Shooting Championship held in Ahmedabad, The School Nationals held in Bhopal and The 39th Pre Nationals (North) conducted at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range, New Delhi. The participants were

2. The Indoor Sports Arena was inaugurated in December of 2018 enabling the young and energetic sporting talent of IDPS to shine and achieve success in their sporting endeavors.

3. Technology is changing the way people do things in every part of the world, and the sector continues to expand and IDPS believes in preparing the next generation for the future. Integrating Robotics or Artificial Intelligence as a subject in the academic curriculum is the need of the hour and keeping this in mind, the IDPS Robotic lab was inaugurated in November of 2019 by Dr. Arun Manhas, State Project Director, Samagra Shisha, J & K State.

4. The IDPS Chronicle- an in-house mode of communication about the school’s news and progress to our dear parents and the society was launched in October of 2018. We have successfully completed Volume 1.

5. July 29, 2019 - The day we received the affiliation from the CBSE was a Red-Letter Day in the school’s extremely young history and the credit goes to the Management, students and faculty for successfully proving their mettle.

IDPS Garten:

1. The IDPS Garten concentrates on the formative needs of young inquisitive learners and are focused on the improvement of gross and fine-motor abilities. The environment and the activities are intended to help the students to comprehend and take in the distinctive ideas through play-way systems. For this purpose, our Kindergarten Wing is theme based in all aspects starting from the classroom infrastructure, play way approach of learning by doing and also, the academic curriculum. All four classes of the IDPS Garten are represented by a color and name. Taking the theme-based environment further up to Grade I as well, the same class has been named Begonia for the next session onwards.

2. The introduction of the MOTHER TODDLER PROGRAM and BUDDY SYSTEM have been two programs that have gained serious appreciation from both students and parents alike.

• The MOTHER TODDLER PROGRAM enables our mothers to spend quality time with their wards in the class room environment.

• The BUDDY SYSTEM enables students to interact, share a meal and learn to help each other as a unit, irrespective of their age group.

3. The International Delhi Public School Jammu believes every child is a Star and has the ability to shine in his or her own special way. The Interschool event - ‘Star Quest’ was the brainchild of the Kindergarten team and we are very proud of the successful conduct of the same for two consecutive years. It has encouraged and nurtured the young talent and enjoyed participation from all leading schools across Jammu.

4. The Jungle Safari is an animal theme-based event for Kindergarten which is organized annually in the form of a Fancy-Dress competition. This is an innovative method of learning by doing and having fun at the same time.

Co-Curricular:

1. One of the most appealing aspects of the school curriculum is the conduct of the IDPS Club. It has garnered great attention and been highly valued by our parents and students. The IDPS clubs; be it Sports, Nature, Sci-Ma, SUPW, Literary or Cultural, offer important life skills which enables the students to enhance communication skills, leadership skills and team work for grooming every facet of their personality. This also gives the chance to the students to explore and analyze their inner talent.

2. When students leave the classroom, they see the connections between what is happening at school and in the ‘real-world’. IDPS believes in building these connections and has organized frequent picnics, field trips and camps to ensure a multi-sensory learning experience.

3. Competitions and activities organized offer opportunities for students to learn the values of teamwork, individual and group responsibility and a sense of culture and community. Extracurricular activities provided a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom in a real-world context, and are thus considered an integral part of a well-rounded education. Realizing this, opportunities were provided to students to take part in a number of activities and competitions-both intra and inter school like Debates, Declamations, Quiz, Music and Dance, Sports, Athletics, Art & Craft, Culinary skills etc.

4. To ensure that our students are equipped to face any challenge, we have focused sessions on special topics including health education through checkups, traffic rules, social responsibilities like anti-bullying campaign, rallies for environmental awareness, life skills, table manners etc.

5. Weekly theme-based Assemblies are conducted class wise. They help in unifying the students, develop core values like social discipline and also build confidence as everyone gets an opportunity to express themselves on stage in front of an audience.

Learning is a never ending process. Our teachers have been adopting a series of innovative methodologies to make learning processes interesting and to cater to the challenging needs of the students. And I firmly believe that all that we have achieved would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of my highly dedicated faculty. I am grateful for all that they have done and more.

To quote Mahatma Gandhi:

“In a gentle way you can shake the world.”

Good afternoon

today we have reached the time to reflect back on achievements, experiences and learning opportunities that have made the past two years – and they have been remarkable.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all our students, parents, well-wishers and patrons of our school whose constant support and guidance has helped maintain high standard of education and discipline in our school. I take this opportunity to commit to do our best to serve this locality through quality education. We seek the blessing from the God Almighty to help and guide us in the right direction.
